WEEK 16 DAY 6

WOW!  According to my stats page, yesterday’s post received the highest number of hits since I began this blog almost 17 weeks ago.  I’m the closest to speechless I’ve ever been and am left pondering the reason.  Here’s what I’ve come up with- either the parallels I drew between marathon training and marriage were completely profound and mind-blowing OR you all were relieved that I finally took a break from whining about my training.  For whatever reason, I prefer the former explanation so, thank you!

Knowing that CMB and I would be spending a night out on the town celebrating (translation- I would not be fast asleep by 10pm), I previously planned on pushing my 12 mile run out to Sunday.  When I woke to rain hammering against the windows of my bedroom, I was reassured  I’d made the right decision.  Had I scheduled my run for this morning, I would felt compelled to go, braving the foul weather.  After all, its entirely possible (probable even) that it could rain in Portland on October 6th.  But with tomorrow as my designated day to train, I was able to push this likelihood out of my mind and thoroughly enjoy my morning as a warm, dry spectator of the elements.
