WEEK 7 DAY 2

I’m back, baby!

It’s hard to believe that only last week I had a daily cat fight with my alarm. Apparently, we’ve mended fences. Not only did I get up immediately when she rang, but I only snarled once or twice when doing so. Although the change in our dynamic might be due to my being summoned at a more reasonable hour, I prefer to take full credit for a vast improvement in attitude.

My positivity was at an all time high as I soared in to UEF for an 8:45am Bootcamp. Not only was B on the clock, but I was reunited with some of the regulars of this time slot. Due to the scheduling demands of my chauffeuring gig, it had been weeks since I’d seen some of these gals. Following an ample amount of squealing and hugs, I warmed up on the treadmill. We then did a combo of speed and hill drills during which I logged a little over 2 miles. The strength portion of class included upper body work with big girl weights (15-pounders) AND medicine balls, lots of ab exercises, and way more squats and lunges than I can remember. No, I literally cannot recall how many since all the blood rushed away from my brain rendering me senseless (and wobbly).

But that’s not all. When I arrived home, I grabbed one of my training campers (the other protested by staying in her PJs) and headed back out for a neighborhood jog. We concluded the run with a friendly sprinting race, a high five and a glass of water. Not a bad start to the day.
