WEEK 12 DAY 5

You might have been hoping for one of my profound and mind-blowing Friday/Rest day posts.  I still find it interesting that days of inactivity usually coincide with my most self-reflective/cerebrally-indulgent writing.  I hate to disappoint but ended up taking a short run the day before a long one for two reasons: 1. I’m at an 8-mile deficit this week (see Week 12 Day 3) and 2. it’s a step-back week so I only need to log a paltry 13 miles tomorrow.

I followed the same 4-mile course as yesterday, again focusing on speed but slowing it down somewhat so as not to blow out any vital muscles necessary for tomorrow.  My core and shoulders made their presence known with each step I scampered, no doubt a result of the most recent training session.  Feeling the fruits of my labor/strength throughout my body, reinforced in my mind that if I can continue on this path for a few more weeks, I do believe I’ll have this marathon in the bag.

While writing this, a little lightbulb popped up over my head (I had the best idea)!  I’d like to make these last 6 Day 5s of the blog- Feedback Fridays.  I can tell from my stats page that people are reading and I’d like to hear from you.  Tell me what you think, what you love and hate, what makes you want to punch me in the face and what makes you know I am the funniest person on earth.  Come on, don’t leave me hanging! Just do it!!!
