WEEK 4 DAY 7

I’m going to begin this entry with a disclaimer.  I know that in my last couple of posts I’ve come across as an unappreciative, big, fat whiner.  At times, its difficult to honestly record my truth and then to go back and read what I’ve written.  I have ups and downs- elation is easy to share, usually I keep the dark thoughts to myself.  But since for me this blog is about keeping it real, I ask that you bear with me and keep following.

I’m well aware that I’m a very lucky woman.  I have a supportive husband, two amazing and healthy kids, a loving family, great friends, a fit body that puts up with my many demands, and I am fortunate to live in a beautiful place.  As far as destination runs go, this morning’s 11 mile out and back from Mill Valley to Sausalito is one of my favorites.  The course begins on a bike path that funnels on to a road which will take a runner all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge if she so chooses.  There are some rolling hills, but more straight-aways, and a most importantly a bathroom and water fountain close to the turn around point.  Pausing to admire a spectacular view (while choking down some GU) 5.5 miles in, further impressed upon me the reality that life is really, really good.

Please let me know what you think!
